Stuart MacIntyre

Stuart read law at the University of Durham and after qualifying and practising in London has now been a Partner in the firm for over twenty five years. Stuart was appointed as Senior Partner in 2014.

 

He practises in all areas of family law but particularly in the financial consequences of divorce, pre-nuptial agreements and cohabitation disputes.

 

He is a Deputy District Judge of many years standing and a longstanding member of Resolution the Solicitors Family Law Association.

Chris Hugo

Department: Litigation & Employment

Chris obtained a MA in law at the City University and trained and worked post qualification with a large City firm for a number of years before joining the firm and becoming a Partner in 2000.

 

Chris has a broad based commercial litigation and employment practice and also deals with non contentious employment work, including director's service agreements and Settlement Agreements (on behalf of both employers and employees).  He also has an interest in professional negligence work and in Alternative Dispute Resolution mediation.

 

Chris is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association.

Felicity

Felicity Williams

Partner

Department: Residential Conveyancing

Felicity read law at the University of Hertfordshire and qualified as a Solicitor in 1994 and specialises in both residential and commercial conveyancing. 

 

After joining the firm in January 2000 she became a partner in 2006 and is now head of residential conveyancing.

James

James Pearson

Partner

Department: Company and Commercial Property

James was educated at Tonbridge School and the University of Sheffield and qualified as a solicitor in 2005. James worked in a substantial firm in London before moving to Knocker & Foskett in January 2010.

 

James specialises in commercial property and general company and commercial work. James is Head of the Company and Commercial Department and he became a Partner in the firm in 2012.

Damien

Damien Jones

Solicitor

Department: Wills, Tax and Probate

Damien is a Senior Solicitor and Head of the Wills, Tax and Probate Department, having qualified in 1999.   He specialises in Wills, administration of Estates, general and Lasting Powers of Attorney, Court of Protection, trusts and estate planning.

 

He is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, Solicitors for the Elderly and the Law Society Private Client Section.

 

He has previously held the roles of Legal Officer for Invicta Advocacy Network and Trustee of Northfleet Citizens Advice Bureau.   He works with a number of charities both in the provision of legal advice and fundraising.  

 

Damien is an aspiring runner, wishful golfer and armchair footballer.

Mark

Mark Thomson

Solicitor

Department: Wills, Tax and Probate

Mark graduated from Exeter University and now specialises in the administration of estates, tax planning and the preparation of Wills. He trained with the firm and has been a Solicitor in the Wills, Tax and Probate department since qualification in May 2005.

 

He was brought up in Sevenoaks and lives locally. Mark became a Partner in 2012.

 

Mark retired as a Partner in 2017 and is now a part time Consultant Solicitor in the firm.

David

David Brazel

Solicitor

Department: Residential Conveyancing

David read law at Exeter University and after training with the firm, and some subsequent years in a substantial London firm, he returned to Sevenoaks and was a partner in the firm for some twenty five years.

 

David retired as a Partner in 2016 and is now a full time Consultant Solicitor in the firm.

 

David deals primarily with residential conveyancing property matters.

Brian Robson

Brian Robson

Department: Litigation

Brian is a senior assistant solicitor in the litigation department. He has over 25 years experience as a litigator having first qualified as a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives and then admitted as a Solicitor in 1998.

 

His practice at Knocker & Foskett involves: 

 

  • Personal Injury claims including clinical negligence claims
  • Disputes relating to land/real property - including boundary disputes and rights of way disputes
  • Landlord and Tenant - possession actions
  • Contractural Disputes - both consumer and commercial
  • Agency Disputes
  • Inheritance Act Claims - under the Inheritance (Provisions for Family and Dependants) Act 1975.

 

Brian was appointed a Deputy District Judge in 2010.

Anne Weare

Anne Weare

Solicitor

Department: Wills, Tax and Probate

Anne graduated in law from Exeter University and after qualifing and practising in London, joined the firm in September 2000 when she moved to Kent.

 

She specialises in the administration of trusts and the tax consequences thereof.

Sarah Linnett

Chartered Legal Executive

Department: Family

Sarah is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives with a professional higher diploma in Family Law and Practice, who specialises in Family Law and Dispute Resolution.

 

She has been with the firm since 2006. Sarah is an Affiliate Member of Resolution the Solicitors Family Law Association.

Jane Brassington

Jane grew up in Four Elms and attended Tonbridge Grammar School. She graduated in law at Leeds University and completed her Legal Practice Course at the College of Law London. Jane worked in the corporate department of City firm CMS Cameron McKenna for 9 years and joined the commercial team of Knocker & Foskett in Autumn 2014.

Emma P

Emma Houghton

Solicitor

Department: Wills, Tax and Probate

Emma started her Legal career by studying European Business Law with French at the University of Abertay Dundee and Orleans University, Orleans, France.


Upon spending some time as a Teacher of English as a foreign language in Barcelona, Spain, Emma moved to London to complete her CPE and LPC at London Metropolitan University. Upon qualification, Emma worked predominantly in wills, tax, probate and family law in a firm in West London.


She has more recently practised solely in wills, tax and probate work involving matters such as estate administration, will drafting, dealing with the preparation and registration of lasting powers of attorney and the registration of enduring powers of attorney and managing the day-to-day running of Court of Protection matters. 


Among other things, Emma’s interests include being an Ambassador for Cancer Research UK and running, having undertaken various charity runs such as the Run to the Beat half marathon.

TanyaBeattie

Tanya Beattie

Department: Residential Conveyancing

Tanya studied Law and Accountancy at the University of Dundee and completed her Legal Practice Course at the College of Law in Guildford.  She trained at a Basingstoke firm where she qualified in 2011. 


In 2015 Tanya joined the firm when she relocated to Kent and specialises in residential conveyancing.

Verity Donaldson

Department: Residential Conveyancing

Verity qualified as a Licensed Conveyancer in 2015 following more than 14 years of working in the residential property sector as a legal secretary and conveyancing assistant.


She joined Knocker & Foskett in 2016 and specialises in residential conveyancing.

Tracy Sales

Solicitor

Department: Wills, Tax & Probate

Tracy studied for her Law Degree in Northampton before completing her Legal Practice Course at the College of Law in Guildford. Tracy qualified as a solicitor in September 2000 and since qualifying has specialised in Wills, Tax and Probate working in Kent and East Sussex.

 

Tracy joined Knocker and Foskett in 2016 and specialises in estate administration, the preparation of Wills, the preparation and registration of Powers of Attorney and Court of Protection matters.

 

Tracy is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners and of the Private Client Section of the Law Society.

Susan is an Associate Legal Executive having worked in the residential proeprty sector initially as a legal secretary progressing to become a fee earner in 2008.

 

Susan joined the residential conveyancing department of Knocker & Foskett in 2016.

Rachel Yates

Rachel Yates

Department: Company and Commercial

Following over a decade at a niche property practice in the City, Rachel joined Knocker & Foskett in 2016. Rachel specialises in non-contentious commercial property work including lettings and asset management, together with sales and purchases of retail, office, industrial and mixed use investments.

 

Rachel attended Tonbridge Grammar and then later graduated from Durham University before qualifying as a solicitor in 2003. She has lived in the Sevenoaks area for most of her life and is enjoying now working in the area too.

Julie Miller

Julie is a senior solicitor in the Wills, Tax and Probate department and has over 20 years of experience as a Solicitor having been admitted in 1995   Julie works with a broad range of clients and her practice at Knocker & Foskett involves:

  • Powers of Attorney

Julie is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (‘STEP’) and the Private Client Section of the Law Society.

Margaret Sculpher

Department: Family

Margaret trained with Knocker & Foskett and worked for us in her early years of practice. She has now returned to the fold after working for many years in a long established Kent practice.

 

Margaret specialises in all areas of Family Law and adopts a conciliatory approach to her work. She is a collaborative lawyer and also sits on the Kent Resolution Committee.

Katie Williams

Katie read law at the University of Southampton and went on to complete her Legal Practice Course at the College of Law in Guildford in 2009.  Following a year working as a conveyancing paralegal, Katie moved to a firm in Bromley to completed her training contract before qualifying as a Solicitor in 2012.

 

Katie lives locally to Sevenoaks and joined Knocker & Foskett in June 2017. She specialises in all aspects of residential conveyancing.

JoanneSearle

Joanne Searle

 Joanne studied law at the University of Surrey, undertaking a sandwich year working at Knocker & Foskett. She completed her Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice (LPC) at the University of Law in Guildford.


The seats Joanne will undertake as a trainee include Matrimonial, Private Client, Company and Commercial and Property & Conveyancing.

Barry Landa

Practice Manager

Department: Practice Manager

Barry Landa became the Practice Manager in January 2002 following more than 14 years as the Senior Clerk to a leading set of Barristers Chambers based in Gray’s Inn, London. 


Barry is the overall manager of Knocker & Foskett responsible for the administration, finance and day to day running of the firm. Any queries or concerns relating to accounts or the handling of your matter can be reported directly to him.
